The Royal Hawaiian Chess Set was designed to distinguish itself as Hawaiian, in commemoration of Hawaii's Royal and Sovereign past. To be easily recognized as a chess set, played in the traditional English version. The individual pieces are described in detail at sidebar section titled "Akamai".

The set consists of 42 piece - The additional pawns allows checkers to be played using the pawns, when 'kinged' use any of the non-pawn pieces This is Checkers-Royal Hawaiian Style .
