The concept and development of the "Royal Hawaiian Chess Set" was a long and tedious road that covered over 35 years. It has taken over 35 years to bring us to the point where we are today. My name does not appear to be Hawaiian, but I am, my middle name is "Ipo", not to be mistaken for 'Initial Public Offering'. Hawaii is a ethnic melting pot, my ancestry goes back to a legendary Spaniard in Hawaiian history, King Kamehameha and the Royal Hawaiian Court.

My purpose for creating the Royal Hawaiian Chess Set, was to educate and inform tourists and mainlanders that Hawaii is more than lazy tropical breezes and clear blue oceans; Hawaii is its people and culture, a once sovereign nation, ruled by a King and Queen that has the only registered Royal residence in America.
