The Royal Hawaiian Chess and Checker Set is the English version of Chess and Checkers with a Royal Hawaiian Theme.

The Chess version is based on the Royal Hawaiian Court assembled, identified by the 'Kahili' as Bishops. The Checker version is based on using the Pawns as checker pieces. When a pawn is 'kinged', replace with any of the non-pawn pieces.

The set assembled begins with King-Moi and Queen-Ali`i Wahine , followed by the Bishops, in this case, the 'Kahili Staff', followed by the Knights or Koa and then by the Rook or Hale Pukaua. Fronting these pieces are the Pawns resembling 'Poi Pounders resting in a Poi Bowl' or Maka`ainana(Common People).
